UGH!

I've tried this pattern before. I think it's cute. The first time I made it my kids wouldn't wear the dresses more than once, they were itchy. Now I made it again and I think it looks like a nightgown! A very expensive velvet nightgown!

Maybe I should forget the whole thing in WA. I have so much going on this week and now I just want to scream! I have a huge "head-ick" to quote George and ElCid is away, I never sleep very well when he's away. I'm not sure how all my military wife friends do it.

Okay here is another set of pictures. This time with a poofy slip on, is it any better?

The slip helps and I think it would look better in red. =)

The slip helps and I think it needs a sash! Red would be cute too, but it is too late for this particular dress-so I vote for the sash!

Le sez it looks like it might be the wrong size for Jr, is it? It is a beautiful dress, I think the length adds to the nightgown impression.
I am truly sorry you have a head-ick but you created a very elegant dress.

I'm with Kathy! Although in one of those, I can see there is a tie already.

oops! I didn't see the tie.

This dress looks very beautiful! Something I would get for the renn faire for Butterfly. And the big skirt under it really helps.

I think the slip makes it look better. I would play a 4-5 inch sash - maybe cream? You could potentially do that instead of the normal ties. I think it might look better in a photo. I think it's a beautiful dress though :)

While a contrast color would be nice, I am afraid that a sash would hide the beautiful pleats which add to the 'flow' effect of the dress. Yes to the slip. Little girls like to dresses like this one because they feel elegant and they can twirl, and the pleats add to the twirl-ability. (yes, I made up that word!)
