Today was "the" day.

I am 34 weeks 5 days pregnant with Jack Jack. Today was the day that I had Jr, 34 weeks 5 days. It's a little bit odd to be doing so well but I will totally take it!! The last time I was this pregnant I was 21, I have to admit it's a different ball game when you're ... not 21.

I still have Dr appointments twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Tuesday appointments are biophysical profiles, I listen to Jack Jack on the monitor for 20 minuets or so, depending on how cooperative she's being. Via ultrasound they measure her fluid levels, watch her practice breathe, see her move a few times and then send me on my way. They also check my BP and blood sugars chart.

Fridays are regular Dr visits which are routine end of pregnancy visits. He also checks my BP, asks about my sugars, headaches, vision changes, contractions, upper right quadrant pain, swelling, and then any other questions I have. Usually by that point there's nothing left!

As long as things continue to look good I get to keep going. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a "big" baby that gets to come home when I do!

*************
Today during the ultrasound Jack Jack was blinking and sticking out her tongue! It was so funny to watch, kind of like watching a little kid make faces in a mirror when they don't know you can see them. This tech also mentioned just how much hair she has, the last tech said it was over an inch and this one agreed that it must be at least that! I think I'll be adding bows to my hospital bag, just in case.

Happy Valentines Day!

Lots of love was shared yesterday morning at Pastries With Parents, my kids were able to play with friends and run amok, or help out, it just depended on the kid.

George brought me my first Valentine after school, well it was for the whole family but I got a good laugh out of it for sure!
I'm just really glad her teacher knows us and knows that feeding her isn't really something we have a problem doing. Getting her to eat what we feed her, now that's another story...

Jr and George got tons of candy from school and Fred only felt a little bit left out. ElCid and I got them each a small present so no one was really left presentless. Even though I hadn't seen daffodils in the store and told ElCid he was off the hook, he managed to find them and bring them home anyway.
It was a good day and my pretty flowers will brighten up my front yard for years to come :)

The Perinatologist

Jack-Jack and I saw the perinatologist this morning and she looks great! They estimate her at 5lbs. 4 oz and 16 inches long. They think she's big because of the Gestational Diabetes, I think she's that big because she just is. Jr. was 5lbs 2 oz and 16 3/4in at 34 weeks when she was born. George was 5lbs 4oz and 16-17in. (Bad mom who can't remember, I know) when she was born at 33 weeks. The measurements of Jack-Jack's humerus and femur are a few weeks ahead of where she is now (31weeks 5 days). In fact they measure at the same size Jr. and George were when they were born. Her head isn't quite as far ahead as the rest of her, just by a week and a half. But my kids don't have the biggest heads, I leave that to ElCid's nieces and nephews. It's looking like I won't need preemie clothes this time around!

I got to sit and listen to her for a while and I'll be listening to her twice a week when I go in for checks. They will check my blood sugar chart, my BP and her water levels. Fun times all around!! Here are some pictures, the best part of all the extra testing.
Face with chubby cheeks :)
Her foot is 2.5 inches long now.
Profile, not very good because squirmy wouldn't hold still.

How many boy scouts ...

does it take to fold a flag? ElCid and I went to the Court of Honor for the ward, another perk of his current calling. I didn't get a picture of the flag before it came down, they had it overhead like a tent, very cool, but here are the guys folding up the flag.

It was very impressive, if they ever do it again I'll be sure to get a picture while it's still up!

Cookie Carnival

Every year there is a big carnival down at Girl Scout Council for cookie kickoff. Our troop sponsors a booth and we go and help out. This year the booth was tattoos!
George picked a red, white and blue sparkly face tattoo.
Jr had a blue sparkly hand tattoo, i know you're all shocked.
The big BABW bunny, they were a little bit nervous but consented to the picture anyway.
George loved being in charge of tattoos, a career in the making?
Their favorite game outside was lollipop pull, there was never a line, it was one ticket, and you got a lollipop no matter what. It was a win all the way around.
My cutie girl scouts.
