Cake & Life

Fred's friend C was baptized on Saturday and her mom asked me to make the cake. Here is the result. Fred wants a fairy meadow cake, that one has me scared.

I think I finished the Cinderella today I'm waiting to hear back from the girl who ordered it. Next week is Snow White and Saturday is the big Shindig! I have most of the craft stuff organized and ready and now it's on to the house cleaning. I did all the dishes tonight, there was some hand wash that had been sitting there way to long (embarrassingly long). I got the floor swept but it still needs to be mopped. I also need to clear the counters ugh I hate that job!

Tomorrow is the last day! He will probably stay until 11 like last year and be at the main post office at midnight but he will be home all day Wednesday and I can call and whine whenever he is late and I want him to come home.

I had to do the hateful task of collecting all my own information so our own taxes could get done. I figured out how much I made on average per month after all my costs last year . Yeah can we say less than one of my dresses is what I "brought home". Is it even worth it?? I know I've asked this question before and now it's back. Is all the hassle, stress, worry and work worth only that much? If I just quit I'd have so much more time for my kids and my house and I could still sell on Ebay if I wanted.

So now what? How do I decide? Flip a coin? Oh well maybe next year...

was moga... ie child care one of the costs? Of course, George is making a dent in the "extra", isn't she? I do pay attention.

E bay sounds good, IF you can make a decent profit, then you could balance kids and the need to be creative at your OWN whim.

OR you could set a limit and still take orders, one dress a week, two a month, whatever fit your mood and life.

I will be sure and call lots on Wednesday, just because I love you!

I vote you just play with George and sell on e-bay when you need some pocket change. She will grow up so fast and you will never get this time back! Remember, one day your girls are going to think its embarassing to spend time with you and then you could run a business to your heart's content.

I agree with redheadsmom. At least take a break for a while. You work soooooooo hard. And I KNOW there is already so much on your plate. There's nothing wrong with taking a year or two sabbatical. :) I'm thinking of taking a longer sabbatical myself ...

I like your mom's idea! Only take a few orders a month and that's it. First come first serve. Your talent is too FABULOUS not to share. This way you still have plenty of extra time but you also feel like you're doing something too.

Time with children and home are very fleeting! (I can't believe that all our children have moved out) Dresses and sewing are forever. Take the time with your children and you'll never regret it. I was a little older than you when I had a tole painting business. I had fun but when I look back I can't make up the time I missed with my kids. You are extremely talented and you can always work later.
