Each Sunday night we sit down for a moment and spend time as a family. With work schedules and after school extra curricular activities this traditional Monday night event happens on Sunday in our house. We have a chart ElCid's oldest sister made for us and everyone has a job. Scripture, song, prayer, lesson, activity and treat. Since there are only 5 of us the person with the lesson picks the treat, they LOVE picking the treat since it's the one night a week they get dessert.
Tonight the lesson was about the Ten Commandments. George picked the topic. We made a puzzle of the commandments and gave everyone 2 pieces. We put them all together and then discussed what each one meant. There was some confusion over adultery, graven images, covet, and false witness. Good topics of conversation.
I chose the activity, we played Jenga. If you pulled a white brick you said something nice about Fred, Jr. or George. If you pulled an orange brick you said something nice about ElCid or me. They enjoyed playing and they liked hearing nice things about themselves, and saying nice things about others, although I'm not sure why being "cookoo" is nice...
We had a great time and I hope they learned something new!

well you know the word cookoo can be confusing, just like coveting and bearing false witness....
