The things you find ...

at JoAnn. George and I were running errands and on a whim I decided to stop in at JoAnn to grab a pattern. (Simplicity patterns are 1.99 until Saturday.)

Side tangent do you think the blue dress would be cute for Easter? I know it's not what I had thought about originally. It will have a sleeve of course and it will still be in the pink, blue, green. I think I'd leave off the little roses...
Anyhow I was randomly looking to see if they had a fabric I could use as an overlay on the above dress and there was a lady who looked out of her element. I asked if she was finding the right color of satin thinking I could send her over to Heddy's if she needed another color. She wasn't sure and we got to talking, her daughter is going to a big dinner thing and the dress she picked was too short. It has a meringue bunch skirt and it needed to be 4 inches longer. I explained how she could do it, mentioned there were patterns that could show her, while we looked for a fabric and I could see I was losing her so I gave her one of my cards and said she could call me if she needed help, she really wanted her daughter to be happy. She was ecstatic to find out I did things like that for real and asked if she could get me to do it. So 20 minutes later I walked out of the store with the dress and all the stuff to make it longer. :)

I think it looks okay, what do you think?
(no, it doesn't match exactly and yes, you can see the line but besides that)

Awesome! It looks so great. The line looks like part of the dress design, so you are good. I am one of those anal people who would tell you if it looked bad. Your feelings take the back burner to my honesty. Good job!

Also, hypothetically...would you make me the dress on the left of that pattern for Kafra in July? If I need it?

I think it looks fabulous. I think I might be blind, because I can't see a line. I love the style of that skirt--that lady was definitely in the right place at the right time. Way to be so thoughtful in helping her fix her dilema.

The 'line' is a matter of the new fabric being less shiny than the original... but you did a great job. I mean you DIDN'T tell her to sew a row of lace on the bottom ;-Þ

I LOVE the blue dress, wish I had the shape (and youth) to have you make ME one ;-} Is it just my age that I could see a lacy short sleeved blouse underneath looking good?

You're so friendly. I never talk to strangers...

I don't know how you found fabric that matched that closely. The dress looks great. Hopefully, you are working your same magic on my sassy little number. Is the gold bow crooked or is it just me??

P.S. I love the blue dress!
