An Experiment

Yesterday when I was making copies George hang out in Fred's class. They were talking about teeth and taking good care of them. They also had put an egg into vinegar to watch it dissolve the shell to show what happens to teeth when it comes in contact with acid. George was captured by the experiment and liked the squishy, bouncy egg. She also requested we do it here at home. I had a jar, some vinegar and an egg so we did it ourselves. As usual I didn't think about taking pictures until the experiment was half over but here she is with her own stinky, squishy egg. She even got to bounce it, outside of course! Lucky for me at the end of the fun she was happy to put Stinky Egg in the outside trash can. :)

Was it raw? I know JE is going to want to try it himself so I am asking to prevent tragedy.
Cool experiment George! (and Fred ;-)

Way cool! What a great way to get kids to brush their teeth! I wish I would have known that when I was still teaching 3rd grade. One of my students had to have all of his molars pulled. Ouch!

That sounds like an awesome experiment. I think bouncing it outside was VERY wise of you! Look at all the wisdom you have gained over the past few years!!!

Yes, if it was Jr you wouldn't have been so lucky- I can see her wanting to keep it and name it and add it to her collection.

was that boiled? i'm the dumb one who'd do it raw and then it'd explode in the cup and leave me smelling all nasty.
