These actually aren't mine. I stole them from Nan. She got them for a birthday or something and I'm very sure she wouldn't appreciate them as much as I do. I really like them and have read all 8. It is such a fun story and the characters weave together so well and the books flow nicely one to the next.
Fred has also read the first book. She was surprised a book could make you cry. We also had a missionary in our ward briefly about the time she read them from Prince Edward Island, he was tall, dark haired and good looking. As he spoke about where he was from and it clicked with Fred she leaned over to me eyes wide with surprise and said "MOM!!!! It's Gilbert Blythe!!!" It was all I could do to not laugh out loud but I managed to hold my laugh and I had to agree he could certainly fill the role.
This is another movie to avoid. The first one is okay, they pretty much keep to the story but stop there. Movie 2 & 3 pull bits and pieces from the other 8 books and jumble it all up and change dates and circumstances that you can't hardly recognize what's going on. It doesn't flow or make much sense because they have all the things happen to all the wrong people!

I got the series for Christmas one year and I have read and re-read them several times. I love Anne and Gilbert BTW - Anne is spelled with an 'e' :)

I think you actually stole them from me - because it was super weird that I got them because I was not interested. Though I may have been around Fred's age, so maybe I just didn't like super girlie books? Or maybe I am thinking of other 'stolen' books.
SJSK has just watched all 3 dvds, courtesy of Netflix, I only saw the 1st one but have heard parts of the other two and I thought it went astray in 2 and 3! btw at least two of them went 3 hours each so someone was trying to fit it all in. Part of the books are on project gutenberg and I downloaded the one where they get married but have barely had time to read a page of it ;-Þ
