C/O '96 Forever Baby!!!
#1Susan, Karen, Me & Jennifer
#2 Me & my cousin Davie
#3 I'm not sure which of my family members took the sideways picture

To pay tribute to my pictures for today my important thing to go with it is school. I was one of those truly strange people who LOVED school. I loved reading all those books (just not the papers that went with them), I loved the faux trial cases (except when my key witness turned on me - Jade), I loved listening to IB students ramble on about about black dogs that didn't symbolize a THING (David J).

School was friends, fun and information to absorb. One of my life's ambitions is to be on Jeopardy and all those books I've read, and still need to read, are going to be key for that!

School is important to me for my kids as well. The school they're zoned for had such big issues it was featured on Dr. Phil, no really. I want the best public education they can possibly get until I have enough to send them to private school. Obviously I like to be involved in their education as much as I can be. I want to know what's going on so I can head off any problems that might arise as soon as possible. I'm raising 3 beautiful women and I have a strong desire to make sure there is something behind that pretty face and that they are proud of their smarts.

When it comes to ElCid school is important because his Masters in Taxation pays my bills! I've also had the opportunity to see some of my friends and family work to make ends meet while their husband has been in school, my hat goes off to them for their dedication and support. It also makes me even more grateful that ElCid finished 6 months after we got married.

Eventually when George goes to school all day and I've decided what I want to be when I grow up I'll go back to school and get some sort of useful or fun degree, until then I'm still in Mommy school looking to ace a test one of these days. :)

Happy Happy Birthday George!

As for school, I loved it in college. Hated it in high school. Will probably never go back.

College as a REAL grown-up is just a whole different experience. You take it much more seriously! BTW, I think Beth deserves her own post, not just a shout out at the end! I want pictures!

I think I took the diagonal picture...... I still like them. And you can only go back to school if you promise to NOT be one of the annoying 'adults' who looks down on the traditional students and won't be a contributing group member in group projects and thinks she should automatically be buddy-buddy with the professors.

I agree with Beki as well. Those people are annoying. Just to clarify, by REAL adult I mean anyone besides slacker joe that is there on his parent's dime and doesn't give a crap about school.
Also, the reason you are so involved at your kids' school is because you are a CONTROL FREAK and can't stand not knowing what they are doing during the day.
