Happy Mother's Day!

I distinctly remember my first Mother's Day. Fred wasn't even a month old yet and woke up screaming at 2, 3, 4 & 6 after not going to bed until midnight. We did not make it to church that day.

In the last 9 years the Mother's Day celebrations have varied widely in location, presents, and what I was served for breakfast in bed but my beautiful girls and hunky husband have made every one memorable in one way or another. I love my little princesses for all they have taught me and I'm excited (and very scared) to see what the future will bring us. My wonderful husband spoils me with a lifestyle I always wanted (except that whole tax season thing) and manages to remain calm and steady through all my many mood swings!

My own mother who does drive me a bit batty did all she could to raise me right and I turned out okay so the credit needs to go to her. My Step Mom walked into 6 sometimes children and being an Abuelita by the time she was ... my age. Fred, Jr. and George have never doubted how much she loves them and that has been very important to me. My Mother in Law has taken my attitude, ideas and sometimes wild behavior in stride and I thank her for letting me be me.

I have known some very amazing Moms who helped shape me as a teenager Kristi, Carolyn & Erin I learned tons from you I hope you know that. As an adult I have met Moms that floor me with their talents, commitment, and sheer endurance. I could list you all here but I would miss somebody and feel awful that I did. You know who you are and I thank you for your example because it reminds me that other people out there are going through the same things and me and I'm not alone in this journey.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Mother's Day and I love you!!

(BTW My really big ipod has awesome screen resolution! We're watching Bolt on it.)

Thanks Vee. I didn't know I'd love being an Abuelita so much...and for that, double thank you, you are an awesome mom and a great person.
