Madeleine L'Engle

Two more young adult slightly romanitic/Sci-Fi/mystery? novels I have read many times. (Ugh! He doesn't bite her wrist/lower arm he bites her hand! Sorry, watching TV and another preview)

I am afraid of deep water and the ocean but A Ring of Endless light certainly made me more open to the idea that maybe someday it would be fun to see dolphins in their natural habitat. I also like how she describes the dolphins. Most of the book is really sad but overall it's a good story.

Troubling a Star is about the same girl (there are 5 books about the Austin family). She goes to the South Pole trying to help her love interest and nearly gets herself killed. A little mystery and intrigue with the teen drama in this one and it's great.

I've also read The Arm of the Starfish which is also about some of the same people but is more of a mystery/thriller.

I really enjoy this author but I have to admit I have not read a Wrinkle in Time. I think I tried as a kid but I got lost. I'll have to put that on my list of things to do now that I'm older, right next to watch Chariots of Fire, I never got that movie. Good music though.

I bought my ticket to the 12:01 am showing of Twilight. I will be posting about it too so you've all been warned!

I liked the stories about Charles-Wallace's family (Wrinkle in time - O'Keefe maybe?) way better, even though the two interact with each other at some points. They're not all as science-y sci-fi.

A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet were my intro to L'Engle. I believe we owned Arm of the Starfish. JE and I have the above plus Many Waters (starring Meg and Charles Wallace's twin brothers). I got one from the library that was kindof strange, none of her usual charactors... JE thinks it was The Young Unicorns, or something like that, really off the deep end in parts, but good overall. xoxoxox
